Again and again, the master knocked, One, Two, Three, Four Yet time and time again, the doctor survived Just about the time he celebrate his survival came 4 knocks... Quiet at first, As the audience of the show, we all know where such knocks came from But of course, so did the doctor... Yet he didn't (and hadn't, whichever is the proper word) expect it, He didn't expect it AT ALL Why would he? He had just been through the darkest moment of his life, survived the attack of people of his own race and frustrated their treacherous plan to wipe out planet Earth and the entire human race. He had narrowly escaped his death and saved this world again! Unbelievable Incredible Nevertheless, the knocks came, on time, as in the prophecy. It was Wilf, trapped inside the cubicle, safe and sound. The only trouble was he couldn't get out, not without other's help. The assistance he asked for was at too high an expense -- a matter of life and death. The doctor could have left him then and there, since Wilf was an old man, and not a fixed point in time, not important enough for the doctor to sacrifice his life for.

Sure, the doctor was proud, if not a little bit presumptuous. To be honest, he was intelligent and saved the world loads of time as a time lord who could stand the stab of one heart, certain loss of blood and electricity current. But his rage at his pending death was not without reason. He wasn't planning to lay down his life for one person, for he had endured the pain of losing his very own friends and families in the Last Time War. He knew losses were inevitable, but above all, he knew the significance of family.

It wasn't a perfect ending as DT and RTD was to leave.

The doctor could have the option to power off the system by whichever clever ways, but this time, and this time only, he believed in his destiny, and faced death itself.

Oh, he loves playing with Earth girls. DOCTOR: You're a genius. You're stone cold brilliant, you are. I swear, you really are. But you could be so much more. You could be beautiful. With a mind like that, we could travel the stars. It would be my honour. Because you don't need to own the universe, just see it. To have the privilege of seeing the whole of time and space. And that's how the Master started. lt's not like I'm an inocet. l've taken lives. I got worse. I got clever, manipulated people into taking their own. Sometimes I think a Time Lord lives too long.
